Joe Root is a great player and has helped the England team win many matches. He has also been awarded the Wisden Cricketer of the Year. He has also won the World Cup and has been named in the ICC Test Team of the Year.

ICC Test Team of the Year

The ICC has announced the Men’s Test Team of the Year. The team, comprised of two players from England, two from Australia, one from New Zealand, and one from Sri Lanka, includes three of the best batters of the year.

The Man who won the award was Joe Root. Root scored three centuries and six tons in 15 Tests and played an integral part in the England team. He was named the Man of the Series for his final test performance.

Another member of the team was wicket-keeper Rohit Sharma. This was the first time that Joe Root had played in a Test series against South Africa. In the fifth ODI, he scored an unbeaten 104.

Joe Root became the third Englishman to score over 1,700 runs in a calendar year. His 1,708 runs are the fourth highest in history and are only behind Mohammad Yousuf’s record of 1,590 runs in 2006.

Joe Root also was named the Man of the Series for his display of class. He was a revelation on the field and proved to be the top run-getter in the Tests.

Wisden Cricketer of the Year

In a year of outstanding achievement for Joe Root, the England batsman was named Wisden’s Leading Cricketer in the World. He has also been named one of the year’s five cricketers.

Joe Root had an outstanding year in 2021. He scored 1708 runs at an average of 61, making him the third-highest run-scorer in a calendar year. He also scored six centuries and hit two double tons.

The former England Test captain was named the Leading Cricketer in the World in the latest edition of the Wisden Almanack and will feature on the cover. He has also been called the Leading Man Cricketer in the World.

In the past year, Joe Root has been the leading run-scorer for England. Only Viv Richards of the West Indies and Mohammad Yousuf of Pakistan has achieved this feat.

World Cup

If you asked Joe Root what he would like to do in the T20 World Cup, he would probably say the same thing – win the game. However, he has not played a T20 international match since 2015.

So, what has he been up to lately? Well, the Man is still up to the challenge. He has been in good form over the past couple of years and is currently the top-scoring player in England’s ODI side.

Joe Root has been a consistent performer in Tests and ODIs alike. In the last few months, he scored over a thousand runs in five matches and smashed a 106 in the first Test at Lords.

In terms of what the T20 world cup entails, Joe Root believes it will benefit his game. Although he hasn’t played a T20 match in the past four years, the player has a long-term goal of becoming an all-format player for England.

ODI series against India

India will be taking on New Zealand in three ODI matches at home. The team is coming off a win against Sri Lanka and is in top form.

Rohit Sharma is back as the captain of the side. He is ranked eighth in the ICC ODI player rankings. Other players in the squad include KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav, and Rohit Tripathi.

India has been in top form since February. They haven’t lost an ODI series in over a year. This will give them confidence going into the 50-over World Cup in 2023. However, they must be at their best in the second ODI on Wednesday.

New Zealand will miss two players in the team, Tim Southee and Kane Williamson. The Otago Volts pacer Jacob Duffy will take his place in the squad.

An endorsement deal with New Balance

In recent years, New Balance has made waves in the sports apparel world. They have expanded their range to include high-end cricket equipment such as bats and helmets. The company has also joined up with the England & Wales Cricket Board.

Notably, New Balance has produced a pretty good bat, and the company has also made a high-end shoe that is both functional and fashionable. While this product is still in its infancy, New Balance has already wowed the top cricket-playing nations across the globe.

What is most noteworthy is the company’s association with some of the best-known names in the game. Earlier this month, the company announced that England’s Test Cricket captain Joe Root had signed a deal with New Balance to see him become the company‘s first Asia-Pacific ambassador.
