He was an active member of both First Baptist Church in Camilla and Philathea Sunday School class and left behind three sons, Malcolm, Harry, and Duane Phelps of Camilla; two daughters, Mabel Neal of St Simon Island and Mary Ella Boutwell from Augusta; one brother Vernon Twitty Sr of Norcross; 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren to remember him by. Donations may be made to either First Baptist Church Camilla Cemetery Fund or Philathea Baptist Cemetery Fund at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home as alternatives.

Revs. Terry Hurst and Victor Hurst officiated her funeral services as Reverends Terry Hurst and Victor Hurst presided. Interment was held at Pebble City Baptist Church Cemetery with pallbearers Lorne Hurst, Caleb Hurst, Trevor Green, Cory Green, and Nate Hurst serving as pallbearers. Visitation took place from 10-11 am Friday prior to the service at Camilla First Baptist Church, where she had belonged since she joined their Love Sunday School Class in 1998. She was predeceased by her husband, Brady C. Williams, as well as three brothers; Parker Funeral Home of Camilla handled arrangements. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Freeman and Charlene Williams, as well as three sisters (Mrs. Grace Youmans of Athens, Hazel Clark of Camilla, and Florence Baker from Sale City), along with one granddaughter.
