After two years off the road, the I Love the 90’s tour will return in May to arenas across North America with legendary 90s artists such as Vanilla Ice, 2 Live Crew, Tone Loc, Sir Mix-a-Lot, and Montell Jordan set to perform.
Jewel first made her mark with her debut folk-pop album Pieces of You in 1995 and since has released 11 more records while also becoming a wife and mother.
Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish is currently one of music’s hottest artists. At 19 years old from Los Angeles, the bedroom pop artist has won several significant awards in recent years and become one of the most talked about acts. Eilish’s chill electropop gems combine Portishead with Lana Del Rey, while Lorde’s wisdom-beyond-her-years is heard through Eilish’s songs as she tours her first arena and stadium headlining tour, Happier Than Ever World Tour, in 2022.
Tour dates kick off February 3 in New Orleans and continue across the South, Upper Midwest, and Eastern states until culminating in three shows at Madison Square Garden in late February. She will then head west with three nights at L.A.’s Forum on April 6, 8, and 9. Her tour concludes in Europe in June, with dates in Austria and Switzerland for her inaugural performances there.

One of the most successful bands of the 90s, they enjoyed global popularity and an extensive catalog of hits during this era. Although on hiatus since 2011, they maintain a large fan base and still tour regularly – their concerts becoming legendary due to pitch-perfect harmonies, matching outfits, and dreamy personas! Christina Aguilera was one of the defining pop singers of the 90s, and this concert demonstrated her timeless appeal. Though her musical styles may have evolved through time, Christina Aguilera remains undeniable as an influence.
Aguilera began her career through local talent contests in suburban Pennsylvania before making an appearance on Disney’s rebooted Mickey Mouse Club show in 1992. Although Disney abandoned the project after only two seasons, Aguilera continued her acting and recording artist career, making appearances in Burlesque films as well as having one hit single released as part of Maroon 5’s hit “Moves Like Jagger.”
After her initial albums from her Stripped period, Aguilera gradually broadened her musical scope through contemporary dance and R&B influences. By the time of the release of Back to Basics, it was evident that Aguilera had evolved into one of the most established pop divas of her day; nonetheless, contemporary R&B would remain at the core of her work.
Touring act Aguilera requires a great deal of spectacle in her shows as a touring act, including steam and confetti cannons, mixed-gender dance troupe, steam cannons, and an assortment of eyewear that ranges from standard dark sunglasses to silver Cybertron shades and industrial welding goggles – including steam goggles!
At this performance, however, Aguilera reduced the spectacle to an absolute minimum, instead drawing from her vast back catalog to deliver an inspiring set. She opened with Ain’t No Other Man and showcased the incredible vocal runs that propelled her into stardom instantly. Aguilera then performed songs from La Fuerza, which demonstrated just how potency her voice remains in Spanish too.

Alanis Morissette has long straddled the line between raw and thoughtful lyrics. On her eponymous album’s title track, singer Miley Cyrus explores the complexity of identity through hip-hop drums, melancholy strings, and buttery smooth guitar. Her 2019 single Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie also captures this mood, reflecting her struggle after an ex-partner leaves.
Pavement’s early 1990s pop music scene staple seamlessly blended post-grunge production and Riot Grrrl punk sensibilities into an engaging hybrid form that epitomized punk rock angst. While never as aggressive as Nirvana or Sonic Youth, their music indeed represented that genre’s punk sensibility – in one high school newspaper feature about them, lead singer Stephen Malkmus was featured wearing lacrosse gear with headlines that read, ‘Athletics and punk rock occupy Malkmus’ time’ as his lyrics perfectly represented this youthful artist’s formative years within tracks such as Slanted and Enchanted.
